So a Teen Titans movie has been announced, to be written by Battlestar Gallactica writer Mark Verheiden and is intended to have the same tone as Batman Begins and Superman Returns, which bodes well for the project.
Nightwing has been confirmed at part of the cast - and having once attempted to wear the costume myself - the idea of a well-cast live-action Nightwing makes me a little giddy. Whoo!
Here's my dream-casting suggestion for Nightwing: Matthew Bomer.

He's currently starring in the ABC series Traveler, and he's a very decent actor - the only one who is at-all believable on that show. Plus, he's gorgeous and absolutely looks the part. He was up for role of Superman at one time but lost out to Brandon Routh, so he doesn't appear to have a problem with wearing full-body spandex for a role.
...and just like Dick Grayson, Matthew looks great in his undies:
Just for kicks, here's a seriously cool 3D modeled Nightwing by Tachikoma-X:

If it's a Teen Titans movie, shouldn't it be Robin, instead of Nightwing? I mean, I KNOW Nightwing was later a member, once he gave up the Robin, but...
Oh well, whatever, as long as it's well done. :)
HUGS...
Good choice. I like Matthew. I think Tom Sturridge would also make a nice looking Robin.
You're right about that - Tom is lovely!
I think they're going with Nightwing for the Titans movie because his younger self - Robin - is tied to the Batman franchise.
It'll be interesting then to see if they'll be able to use Wonder Girl and Kid Flash or not. Luckily they've still got tons of Titans to choose from, but it would be strange without Donna Troy and Wally West.
